Do you enjoy working with numbers, analysing data, and being part of a collaborative business environment?An established and well-respected organisation in the Radstock area is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its finance team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with finance experience and strong Excel skills who is looking for a varied role with plenty of exposure across the finance function.

The Role

Working closely with the wider finance team, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting and reporting duties, including:

• Bank reconciliations and cash reporting
• Posting journals and maintaining the general ledger
• Producing and submitting promotional and financial data returns
• Weekly KPI reporting and analysis
• Processing payment runs
• Balance sheet reconciliations and nominal ledger reviews
• Supporting month-end and period-end accounting activities
• Raising sales ledger invoices
• Processing purchase ledger invoices and resolving supplier queries
• Assisting with ad hoc finance projects as required

What do you need to demonstrate

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience working within a finance or accounts environment
• AAT Level 2 qualification (or equivalent accounting knowledge)
• Strong Excel skills, including the use of formulas and pivot tables
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider team
• Confident communication skills and a professional telephone manner

What you'll get in return

• Salary of £26,000 - £28,000 depending on experience
