Interim Financial Accountant

Location: Merseyside
Rate: £280 a day DOE
Contract: Interim Assignment
Duration: Initial 3-Month Contract

Sellick Partnership is recruiting for an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to support a not for profit confidential Liverpool City Region-based organisation through a key year-end and statutory accounts project.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional with strong year-end accounting experience to join a complex, multi-entity organisation. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and the preparation of audit-ready schedules to support the completion of the annual statutory accounts process. Due to project deadlines, we are seeking an individual who can quickly familiarise themselves with the organisation's finance systems and add value from the outset.

Key responsibilities of the Interim Financial Accountant:

• Reconciling balance sheet accounts to supporting documentation and investigating outstanding variances
• Preparing audit-ready lead schedules and supporting working papers for external audit
• Maintaining and updating the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Reviewing accruals, prepayments and year-end cut-off adjustments
• Reconciling intercompany balances and supporting consolidation requirements
• Preparing journals for review and approval
• Responding to auditor queries and providing supporting documentation throughout the audit process
• Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are appropriately documented and can be maintained on an ongoing basis

Essential experience of the Interim Financial Accountant:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, be a finalist, or have demonstrable equivalent experience
• Proven experience supporting year-end close and statutory accounts preparation
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation and audit support experience
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyse large volumes of financial data
• Experience working within ERP systems
• The ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Desirable experience includes:

• SAP Business One
• Group accounts and intercompany reconciliations
• Charity, not-for-profit or social enterprise sector experience
• CaseWare experience
