Our client are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead a portfolio of high-profile Microsoft and infrastructure transformation projects within a large and complex environment. The role will involve 1/2 days per week in Southampton and the rest remote working.

This is an excellent opportunity for a delivery-focused Technical Project Manager who understands Microsoft technologies and can confidently drive technical teams, suppliers and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

This is not a traditional PM role focused solely on governance and reporting. The successful candidate will take ownership of delivery, proactively manage risks and dependencies, challenge where required and ensure technical workstreams remain on track.

Key Projects

You'll initially be leading a number of strategic transformation initiatives, including:

• Active Directory consolidation and modernisation
• Entra ID transformation and identity management initiatives
• Microsoft Intune consolidation and endpoint management projects
• Microsoft 365 tenant and service consolidation
• Large-scale file migrations from legacy file shares to SharePoint Online
• Transition of services from outsourced managed service providers to internal support teams
• Infrastructure and cloud transformation programmes

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex technical projects from initiation through to successful delivery.
• Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, governance packs and reporting.
• Coordinate multiple technical workstreams and project dependencies.
• Drive delivery progress and hold teams accountable for agreed milestones.
• Manage third-party suppliers, partners and internal delivery teams.
• Identify and proactively mitigate risks, issues and blockers.
• Deliver clear communication and reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Chair project boards, steering groups and technical workshops.
• Ensure operational readiness and a smooth transition into BAU support.
• Support decision-making through timely escalation and recommendations.

Required Experience

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• Proven experience delivering complex Microsoft, cloud or infrastructure transformation projects.
• Strong understanding of Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft Intune and Microsoft 365.
• Experience delivering migration, consolidation and service transition programmes.
• Experience managing third-party suppliers and technical delivery teams.
• Strong knowledge of governance, risk, issue and dependency management.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent technical workstreams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to operate effectively across both technical and business audiences.
