About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Optometrist to join a leading private refractive surgery provider in Central London. Our client is an established, internationally recognised group with a reputation for clinical excellence and a team of highly experienced surgeons.

You'll be based mainly at a flagship clinic in Central London, with occasional sessions at partner clinics elsewhere in London. Your focus will be pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing a wide range of vision correction procedures. This is a consultation-focused role, with no diagnostic scanning duties.

Procedures include:

  • Laser vision correction: SMILE, LASIK and PRK/LASEK
  • Lens-based surgery: ICL and Refractive Lens Exchange, including EDOF, trifocal and toric IOLs
  • Cataract surgery

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out full pre-operative consultations to assess suitability for laser, cataract, RLE and ICL procedures
  • Deliver post-operative consultations and monitor patient outcomes
  • Analyse clinical data and diagnostic results to support treatment planning
  • Manage complex patient cases and co-manage care with surgeons, optometrists and nurses
  • Write clinical reports and respond to patient queries
  • Take part in presentations and ongoing training in refractive surgery and core ophthalmic skills

About you

  • Degree in Optometry with valid GOC registration
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in refractive surgery (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of pre- and post-operative care for refractive procedures
  • Experienced in comprehensive eye examinations and diagnosing vision problems
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team
  • Calm, compassionate and proactive in a busy, high-pressure clinical setting
  • Confident using computers, databases and Microsoft Office
