Interim Financial Controller - 3 months - Guildford – £35-£38 per hour

A great opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join a growing business on a 3-month interim assignment basis. Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, you will provide hands-on financial leadership, improve reporting processes, and support key commercial and operational decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly management reporting, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
• Provide financial analysis and insight to support business performance.
• Improve financial controls, reporting processes, and working capital management.
• Monitor cash flow and support debt collection activities.
• Deliver accurate month-end reporting and performance commentary.
• Support strategic planning, cost control, and profit improvement initiatives.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across the business on financial and operational projects.
• Ensure compliance with governance, audit, and internal control requirements.

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or senior finance professional.
• Strong month-end, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting experience.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise.
• Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Able to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

• Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, retail, logistics, healthcare, or similar operational sectors.
• Multi-site business experience.
• Exposure to change, transformation, or process improvement projects.

Temporary: 3 Months anticipated
Location: Guildford with parking
Start: Immediate / Short Notice
Hourly rate: £35-£38 per hour (c£75k FTE)

This role would suit a hands-on finance leader who can quickly embed themselves within the business, provide strong commercial support, and drive improvements during a critical period.
