Sharp Consultancy are supporting a well-established and successful Leeds-based business is seeking a Finance Assistant to join its finance team on a 10-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional looking to join a friendly and supportive team. The role offers a flexible hybrid working pattern, with four days working from home and one day per week in the Leeds office.

The Role

• Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant will take responsibility for a range of purchase and sales ledger duties, including:

Purchase Ledger

• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
• Matching, batching and coding invoices
• Preparing payment runs
• Reconciling supplier statements
• Investigating and resolving invoice queries
• Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers

Sales Ledger

• Raising and processing customer invoices
• Allocating incoming payments
• Reconciling customer accounts
• Assisting with credit control activities
• Investigating and resolving customer queries
• Supporting the collection of outstanding debt
• You will also assist with general finance administration and provide support to the wider finance team when required.
• The successful candidate will have:
• Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger or Sales Ledger role
• Strong understanding of purchase and sales ledger processes
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive and team-oriented approach
