The Role

As an Accounts Supervisor, you will play a key role in managing a varied portfolio of clients while providing guidance and support to junior members of the team. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys rolling their sleeves up, leading by example, and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and review of statutory accounts for a diverse client portfolio.
• Supervision, mentoring, and development of junior team members.
• Supporting managers and partners with client engagements.
• Reviewing bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts.
• Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted point of contact.
• Assisting with tax compliance work and liaising with HMRC where required.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and add value to clients.
• Supporting the wider team during busy periods and contributing wherever needed.
• Ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Assisting with onboarding new clients and maintaining excellent service standards.

About You

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
• Confident preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Self-motivated with a proactive and positive attitude.
• Comfortable supervising and developing junior staff.
• Organised with excellent attention to detail.
• A team player who is willing to support colleagues and get involved across the business.
• ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience considered.
