Early Years Lecturer

Job Type: Part-time, 18.5 hours per week, working Monday to Wednesday
Location: Surrey
Salary: Up to £39,714.22 FTE, pro rata, depending on skills and experience

We are seeking an Early Years Lecturer to join a welcoming further education setting in Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity for an Early Years Lecturer who is passionate about education, enjoys supporting learners at different stages of their journey, and can deliver high-quality vocational teaching from Level 1 to Level 5.

The successful Early Years Lecturer will be based on site and will play an important role in helping learners develop the skills, knowledge and professional behaviours needed for future careers.

Day-to-day of the role

• Deliver engaging vocational teaching across Early Years programmes from Level 1 to Level 5
• Plan and teach appropriate courses to meet learner needs and curriculum requirements
• Assess, review and accurately record learner progress
• Maintain up-to-date course documentation and learner records
• Support learners to achieve positive outcomes and progress in their studies
• Embed employability skills into teaching and learning activities
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum delivery and learner success

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Degree, HND, or relevant professional qualification in a related subject
• Teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one if not already held
• Experience of teaching within further education would be a distinct advantage
• Level 2 or above in English and Maths is essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Good IT skills and confidence using digital tools to support teaching and administration
• A genuine passion for education and supporting learner development
