The Opportunity

C&C Search is currently recruiting a Director of Industrial Ecosystem to join a specialist Deep Tech venture capital fund investing at Seed and Series A. Based in Berlin, Hamburg or Munich, this is a high-impact opportunity to build the industrial network connecting an ambitious investment team and its portfolio companies with customers, commercial partners, technical experts and decision-makers across Europe.

The Director of Industrial Ecosystem will support category-defining businesses across Physical AI, Energy, Enterprise AI and Logistics. You will create commercial opportunities for portfolio companies, strengthen investment due diligence and translate industrial market intelligence into actionable investment and sourcing priorities.

This is a newly created position offering full ownership, flexibility, competitive compensation and carry in the fund.

Key responsibilities for this Director of Industrial Ecosystem position:

Build and maintain a structured network of industrial decision-makers, operators, innovation leaders, technical experts and business units across Europe
Develop trusted relationships at multiple levels, from senior executives to operational and technical specialists
Connect portfolio company founders with prospective customers, pilot partners, strategic collaborators and relevant industry stakeholders
Help management teams navigate complex industrial organisations, procurement processes and commercial buying cycles
Identify and activate industry experts and potential customers for commercial and technical due diligence
Organise expert interviews, customer validation sessions and industry reference calls for live investment opportunities
Validate technologies, addressable markets, customer requirements, industry use cases and commercial potential
Capture emerging customer needs, technology gaps and market signals to inform investment themes and sourcing priorities
Work closely with the Venture Capital team to embed industrial access systematically within the investment process
Represent the fund at selected industrial technology events, conferences and ecosystem forums
Build lightweight tools and processes that make the industrial network scalable, searchable and measurable

What background and experience are the company looking for?

The successful Director of Industrial Ecosystem will understand how large industrial organisations operate and how technology companies establish credibility, secure pilots and progress towards commercial adoption.

You will bring:

Strong experience building senior relationships and trusted networks across European industrial sectors
Access to relevant industrial, technology or innovation ecosystems
The ability to engage effectively with executives, innovation leaders, engineers, technical experts and operational teams
A strategic mindset combined with a practical, hands-on approach to execution
Excellent organisation and the confidence to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Experience creating structured, scalable and measurable ecosystem or relationship-management processes
Strong commercial judgement and the ability to translate market conversations into clear investment insight
Fluency in both English and German

Experience within venture capital, start-ups, industrial advisory, corporate innovation or industrial technology would be highly advantageous. A strong network across the North American industrial and technology ecosystem, familiarity with industrial tech trends, and confidence using AI and digital tooling would also be valuable.
