The Role

We’re looking for a confident and experienced Senior Optical Assistant who is passionate about patient care, enjoys supporting colleagues and can help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing a warm welcome and exceptional customer service to every patient.
• Dispensing spectacles and advising patients on suitable frames and lenses.
• Carrying out pre-screening and other clinical support duties, where trained.
• Supporting patients with spectacle collections, adjustments and repairs.
• Assisting with contact lens services and teaches, where trained.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
• Helping maintain high standards of patient care and practice presentation.
• Assisting with administrative duties and the smooth running of the practice.
• Taking a proactive approach to resolving patient queries and supporting the wider team.

About You

Previous optical experience is essential, ideally with experience in a senior or supervisory capacity.

You'll be an excellent communicator with strong dispensing knowledge, a professional approach and the confidence to support colleagues while delivering outstanding patient care. You'll enjoy taking responsibility, leading by example and helping create a positive team environment.
