Senior Commercial Buyer - Infrastructure Project

Rate - £500-£600 per day (umbrella)

Location - Warwick or Wokingham (hybrid with 3 days onsite per week)

Contract - 6 months

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Commercial Buyer to support a major infrastructure programme on a fixed-term contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a delivery-focused professional looking to make a significant impact in the infrastructure sector.

Role Overview:
As a Senior Commercial Buyer, you will be at the forefront of coordinating procurement activities, ensuring seamless communication between programme delivery teams and the procurement function. Your hands-on approach will help maintain alignment between project requirements and procurement delivery while supporting the execution of the agreed commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary interface between programme delivery teams and the procurement function.
• Develop and support sourcing strategies, tender documentation, evaluation activities, and contract award processes.
• Coordinate procurement workstreams and schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
• Collaborate closely with technical, legal, finance, and project stakeholders to ensure comprehensive procurement support.
• Manage procurement governance requirements while maintaining audit-ready records.
• Facilitate contract mobilisation activities after contract awards.
• Track procurement actions, risks, issues, and dependencies effectively.
• Lead supplier clarification processes and evaluation activities.
• Support commercial evaluations and cost reviews within NEC4 contractual environments.
• Ensure procurement data and sourcing activities are accurately maintained within the Ivalua platform.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience with Ivalua procurement and sourcing systems.
• Strong understanding of procurement governance and workflow management.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively between project delivery teams and procurement functions.
• Familiarity with public procurement regulations and governance requirements.
• Experienced in preparing procurement documentation and evaluation materials.
• Knowledge of NEC4 contracts is essential.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and organisational skills.
• Background in regulated environments such as government, defence, or critical infrastructure is highly desirable.
• Security Clearance: Candidates must hold a current SC (Security Check) clearance.
