Stride Resource Management
Gloucester · Posted 20 Oct 2026 · 6 applicants
If you are already handling SME or mid-market commercial clients and want a role where there is genuine scope to grow with the team around you, this is a particularly good opportunity to consider.
You will be joining a newly established branch in Gloucester, working directly with experienced Account Executives and helping to build the servicing capability around a developing commercial client base. Rather than stepping into a large, fixed structure, you will have the chance to become an important part of the branch as it grows and take on broader responsibility over time.
The opportunity
The role will give you ownership of the day-to-day servicing of commercial clients while working closely with Account Executives on renewals, new business and ongoing client requirements.
You will be trusted to manage your workload, build relationships with clients and insurers and use your technical knowledge to make sure each account is handled properly. As the branch develops, there should also be opportunities to broaden your responsibilities and progress your career alongside it.
For someone who enjoys Account Handling but wants more visibility, closer involvement with senior colleagues and a clearer route to develop, this should offer more than a straightforward servicing position.
What the role looks like
Your responsibilities will include:
Who this could suit
You are likely to be working as a Commercial Account Handler, Client Advisor or Commercial Broker and already have experience dealing with SME or mid-market risks.
You should have a good understanding of core commercial covers and be comfortable handling renewals and adjustments with a reasonable degree of independence.
Experience across areas such as property, liability, commercial combined, fleet and financial lines would be useful, although you do not need to be a specialist in every class.
The role will particularly suit someone who wants to develop technically and take on greater responsibility rather than remain in a heavily process-driven Account Handling position.
The business
You will be joining an established insurance broking group with a long history in the UK market and a strong focus on personal advice, specialist expertise and long-term client relationships.
The Gloucester operation is at an earlier stage of its development, which creates a different opportunity from joining an already mature office. You will be able to work closely with the people building the branch, contribute to how the team develops and grow your own role as the local client base expands.
There is also a strong emphasis on professional development, making this a good environment for someone who wants to continue building their technical knowledge and progress within commercial insurance.
Package and working pattern
The salary is up to £45,000 depending on experience, alongside a wider benefits package and support with professional development.
The role is based in Gloucester and operates on a hybrid basis, with an expectation of three days per week in the office.
The next step
If you have SME or mid-market Account Handling experience and would like to join a developing branch where you can work directly with Account Executives and grow with the team, it would be worth a confidential conversation.
I can talk you through the type of clients involved, how the branch is being developed and what the longer-term progression could look like before you decide whether you want to take it any further.
