Technical Manager / Technical Lead £40,000 - £60,000 + Benefits Office Based | Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 5pm Our client is a successful international food business and part of a global group with turnover exceeding £1.3 billion. Due to continued growth and ambitious plans over the next five years, they are looking to appoint a Technical Manager or Technical Lead to take ownership of the UK technical function. This opportunity would suit either an experienced Technical Manager looking for a new challenge or a Technical Lead ready to step into a broader leadership position. The Role Reporting into senior leadership, you will lead the technical function across the UK business, managing compliance, supplier quality, customer relationships and technical standards across a diverse product portfolio. Working within a sourcing and supply model, you'll collaborate closely with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders to ensure products remain compliant with UK legislation, retailer standards and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the technical function and technical team. Manage product compliance, specifications and technical documentation. Build strong relationships with customers, retailers and suppliers. Oversee supplier approval, product assurance and compliance programmes. Support NPD projects and product launches. Manage audits and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement across technical systems and processes. Act as the technical lead for customer enquiries and technical issues.About You We're keen to speak with individuals from a food manufacturing, ingredients, sourcing or food supply background. Suitable backgrounds may include: Technical Manager Technical Lead Senior Technologist Compliance Manager Quality & Technical Manager Food Safety Manager Technical Services ManagerYou Will Ideally Have Strong food industry technical and compliance experience. Good knowledge of retailer standards and customer requirements. HACCP and food safety expertise. Experience managing audits and compliance programmes. Knowledge of BRC requirements. Experience reviewing specifications and technical documentation. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
