Eventus Legal are seeking a Post Completion Assistant to join an established law firm's residential property team in Tamworth, Staffordshire. This full-time, permanent job position offers a salary of £26,000 to £28,000 depending on experience, hybrid working and 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays. Alongside this, you will play an important part in ensuring property transactions are registered accurately, with training and development opportunities available.

Role Responsibilities

The Post Completion Assistant will take responsibility for the administrative steps needed after residential property transactions complete, helping ensure timely registration and accurate file closure. Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) returns for England and Land Transaction Tax (LTT) returns for Wales within statutory deadlines.
• Arranging redemption of sellers' mortgages and obtaining confirmation of discharge, including DS1, ED and e-DS1 documentation.
• Preparing and submitting HM Land Registry applications and supporting documents, including AP1, TR1 and TP1 forms.
• Monitoring pending registration applications, responding to Land Registry requisitions and liaising with fee earners when needed.
• Serving notices of assignment and charge on landlords and management companies and obtaining receipted copies.
• Checking completed registrations against transaction documents and sending title and completion information to clients and lenders.
• Supporting fee earners with the discharge of undertakings and keeping the Undertakings Register updated in accordance with firm policy.
• Maintaining accurate case management records and closing files once post-completion matters are resolved.

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and a reliable approach to completing work on time.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with colleagues and relevant third parties.
• The ability to work independently while contributing to the wider residential property team.
• Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
• Desirable previous experience in residential conveyancing post-completion work.
• Desirable familiarity with the HM Land Registry portal, HMRC SDLT online service and the residential conveyancing process.
