The role would suit an experienced PE Teacher or a suitable Early Career Teacher looking to develop their skills in a secondary school setting. What will you be doing? You'll deliver engaging Physical Education lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, encouraging students to participate, improve their skills and develop a positive attitude towards physical activity. You'll plan activities suitable for different abilities, helping students develop coordination, fitness, teamwork and an understanding of healthy lifestyles. You'll encourage participation, promote sportsmanship and help pupils build confidence both individually and as part of a team. You'll also establish clear expectations for behaviour and safety, organise equipment and activities appropriately, and ensure students understand how to participate responsibly. Working alongside colleagues, you'll contribute to an inclusive PE department where students feel encouraged to try new activities, develop their abilities and celebrate their progress. What are we looking for? We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, approachable and confident leading practical lessons with secondary-aged students. Relevant PE teaching qualifications and QTS, where required by the school, are expected. Experience teaching PE at KS3 and KS4 would be advantageous. You'll need good classroom and group management skills, a strong understanding of safe working practices and the ability to motivate students with different interests and ability levels.
