A leading public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Licensing Service Manager to oversee the operational delivery of a high-profile licensing service on an initial 3-month temporary contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished service manager with experience leading teams, driving performance, and delivering continuous improvement within a complex public sector environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary licensing team.
• Ensure effective service delivery, performance management, and quality assurance.
• Drive service improvement and establish robust operational processes.
• Manage workforce planning, governance, risk, and compliance.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders, partners, and external agencies.
• Represent the service at meetings, forums, and governance boards.

Essential Requirements

• Significant experience managing service delivery within the public sector.
• Strong line management and team leadership experience.
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and manage change.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments and managing competing priorities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Desirable

• Licensing or premises licensing experience.
• Regulatory, enforcement, compliance, community safety, or public protection background.
• Experience working within a political or policy-focused environment.
