Job Title: Warranty Manager

Sector: Engineering and Manufacturing

Salary: £39,000 - £44,000 per annum

Location: Redditch (office-based)

Why This Role Matters

A well-established manufacturer of industrial equipment is looking for a Warranty Manager to take charge of what happens after a product leaves the factory. Customers judge this business on how quickly and fairly problems are put right, and this role sits at the centre of that. The company treats warranty as a source of insight and a driver of better products, so your voice will carry weight with the senior team.

What You Will Own

Reporting into senior management, you will run the warranty function from end to end, including the technical team that inspects, repairs and refurbishes returned units. You will be the person customers turn to when something goes wrong, and the person Engineering and Quality turn to when they need to understand why. Your job is to resolve the issue in front of you and to stop it happening again.

A Typical Week Might Include

  • Setting priorities for the warranty team and keeping returns and claims moving
  • Reviewing fault findings on returned mechanical and electrical products and signing off repair routes
  • Using SAP and RMA procedures to log, track and close out every returned item
  • Meeting with Quality and Engineering to agree corrective actions on repeat failures
  • Speaking with customers, including major OEMs, by phone, email and occasional site visit
  • Keeping an eye on spare parts availability and agreeing replenishment with procurement
  • Refining warranty policy and process so claims are consistent and fair
  • Maintaining clear records of claims and service activity
  • Reporting on failure trends, claim costs and team performance

What We Are Looking For

  • A track record in warranty, service or technical support, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical products
  • Experience managing a team and influencing colleagues in other departments
  • The composure and credibility to handle senior customers and difficult conversations
  • A practical streak, with a willingness to get involved at the bench when needed
  • A genuine focus on quality and getting to the root cause
  • Flexibility to visit customer sites from time to time

Skills You Will Need

  • SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Confidence reading technical drawings
  • Clear, persuasive communication at all levels
  • Sound problem-solving and good organisation
  • The ability to stay calm and prioritise when the workload is heavy
  • Soldering and fault-finding experience would be a bonus
