This small, specialist business supports insurance-related monitoring and surveys of structures potentially affected by nearby construction. You will join a small in-house surveying team, working from home outside site visits, with regular face-to-face meetings where practical. The position suits someone early in their monitoring career who already has meaningful practical experience. Some onboarding and development are available, but you should understand how to obtain reliable, repeatable measurements across successive visits. The role Carry out structural monitoring surveys, predominantly at domestic properties for insurance-related assignments. Monitor existing structures affected by nearby construction. Return to sites at agreed intervals to measure targets and track movement over time. Use surveying instruments (Total Station, Digital level - mainly Leica but open to supplying what the successful candidate is accustomed to using) and consistent methods to produce reliable monitoring results. Anticipate access problems and practical site conditions that could affect repeat visits or measurement quality. Manage your workload and travel professionally, coordinating with colleagues and attending team meetings where practical. What you’ll bring Meaningful hands-on structural monitoring experience, ideally a minimun of one to two years.  An understanding of repeat monitoring and the importance of consistency between visits. Relevant domestic property, insurance-related or level monitoring experience would be particularly useful. Construction or bridge monitoring experience is also relevant. Applicants working in setting out are welcome where they have a solid previous monitoring background. The confidence to work independently, supported by a small team. Willingness to undertake substantial travel. Other home locations will be considered where site coverage is practical. What’s on offer Flexible, trust-based working arrangements. Home working outside site visits and occasional team meetings. Flexibility to balance longer travel or site days with shorter days where workload permits. Onboarding and development support to build on your existing experience. To apply or discuss the role confidentially, contact Simon Cowley at Vector Recruitment Solutions.
