CNC Miller – Setter/Operator (Liverpool) Location: Liverpool (Speke area) Job type: Permanent, full-time Salary: £32,125 basic + 17% shift allowance = £37,586 per annum Shift pattern: Rotating 3-day week (see below) The opportunity ABS Talent is recruiting a CNC Miller (Setter/Operator) on behalf of a well-established precision engineering manufacturer in the Liverpool area. This is a permanent role in a quality-focused machine shop, machining precision components on Fanuc-controlled vertical machining centres — with an excellent 3-day working week and strong earnings. The role * Setting and operating CNC vertical machining centres (Fanuc control), each with a 4th axis * Work varies with production planning — either running 3-axis work on the machine bed, or trunnion/4th-axis work (including building up and stripping down the trunnion) * Producing precision components to drawing specification and tight tolerances * Tooling selection, offsets and in-process checks * Quality inspection of your own work to required standards * Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area About you * Experience as a CNC Miller — Setter/Operator * Confident on Fanuc controls * Comfortable with 3-axis and 4th-axis/trunnion work * Able to read and interpret engineering drawings * A strong operator capable of setting would also be considered * Reliable, quality-focused and a good team player Shift pattern A rotating 3-day week, 05:55–17:40 (11.75 hours per day): * Week 1: Monday to Wednesday * Week 2: Thursday to Saturday Paid breaks: one 30-minute and three 15-minute breaks per shift.
