Food Production Operative

Near Newbury, Berkshire

£12.71 per hour | Equivalent to approximately £28,100 per annum

42.5 Hours per Week | Monday to Friday

The Opportunity

We are looking for reliable and hardworking Food Production Operatives to join a busy food manufacturing operation during a seasonal production period.

This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in various stages of the production process, helping to ensure products are processed, packed and prepared to the highest standards of quality, food safety and customer specification.

Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in manufacturing, warehousing, food production, logistics or other fast-paced operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Working on a food production line within a manufacturing environment
• Handling raw materials and finished products safely and efficiently
• Carrying out quality checks throughout the production process
• Preparing, processing and packing products to specification
• Labelling products and maintaining accurate records
• Palletising finished goods ready for dispatch
• Adhering to food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures
• Maintaining high housekeeping standards across production areas
• Supporting colleagues across different departments when required
• Working to production targets while maintaining quality standards

• Are physically capable of standing for extended periods and carrying out manual handling duties

Desirable Experience

Previous experience in any of the following environments would be advantageous:

• Food Manufacturing
• Food Production
• Warehouse Operations
• FMCG Manufacturing
• Packing or Production Line Work
• Meat, Poultry or Agricultural Processing
• Logistics and Distribution

However, full training is available for candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Working Environment

This position is based within a food manufacturing facility and will involve:

• Working in chilled production areas
• Handling raw food products
• Standing for prolonged periods
• Manual handling activities
• Working with PPE provided by the employer

Please note: Due to the nature of the products processed on site, this role involves working with raw game meat and may not be suitable for candidates who are uncomfortable working in a meat-processing environment.
