Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking for your next career move within an established international business?

We're recruiting for a Credit Controller to join a global professional services organisation based in Horsforth. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established finance team, taking ownership of a portfolio of client accounts and playing a key role in driving cash collection, reducing aged debt and maintaining strong client relationships.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external clients, you'll be responsible for ensuring invoices are paid within agreed terms, resolving complex queries and identifying opportunities to improve credit control processes.

This role would suit a proactive and organised Credit Controller who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can confidently manage their own caseload and takes a solutions-focused approach to debt recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of client accounts, proactively chasing outstanding invoices by telephone and email.

  • Monitor aged debt, cash collection and debtor day targets, ensuring payments are received within agreed terms.

  • Investigate and resolve invoice queries and disputes, working collaboratively with clients and internal teams.

  • Maintain accurate records of credit control activity and ensure accounts are managed in line with company policies and procedures.

  • Complete account reconciliations, support cash postings and manage credit note requests where required.

  • Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues and improve cash flow.

  • Identify changes in payment patterns and potential risks, escalating issues and implementing appropriate actions.

  • Manage client billing portals and respond promptly to internal and external enquiries.

  • Provide ad hoc reporting and support the wider finance team as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in Credit Control, Sales Ledger or a similar accounts receivable position.

  • A good understanding of credit control processes, debt recovery and account management.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.

  • Strong attention to detail, with experience completing account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.

  • Good Microsoft Excel and general IT skills, with the ability to work across multiple systems.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

What's on Offer?
  • Permanent opportunity within an established international organisation.

  • Hybrid working, with 3 days in the Horsforth office and 2 days from home.

  • Competitive salary, negotiable depending on experience.

  • The opportunity to develop your experience within a global professional services environment.

  • A varied role with responsibility for client accounts and stakeholder relationships.

  • A collaborative finance team and supportive working environment.
