CNC Turner / Machinist

Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 + Overtime
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Dayshift

We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner / Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering business. This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in programming, setting and operating CNC machinery, while also utilising manual machining skills to manufacture high-quality precision components.

The Role

• Program, set and operate XYZ CNC machines using SolidWorks/CAM software.
• Manufacture precision components primarily from aluminium, with some stainless steel and other engineering materials.
• Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications to produce components to required standards.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using a range of measuring equipment.
• Make adjustments to CNC programs, tooling, offsets and machine parameters as required.
• Support prototype, low-volume and bespoke manufacturing projects.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to drive continuous improvement and reduce setup times.

What We're Looking For

• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent machining experience.
• Strong background in CNC Turning, including programming, setting and operating.
• Experience with manual lathes and milling machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Competent using inspection equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Experience using SolidWorks/CAM software would be highly advantageous.
• High attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
