Mechanical Lead – Data Centre Construction Salary: €110,000–€120,000 + Accommodation + Travel + Rotation + €28,000 Living Allowance Location: Eemshaven, Netherlands Sector: Data Centre / Mission Critical Employment: Permanent We are representing a leading international engineering and construction contractor delivering major data centre and mission-critical projects across Europe. An experienced Mechanical Lead is required to oversee the mechanical package on a major data centre construction project. The successful candidate will lead site delivery, coordinate subcontractors and procurement, manage programme and costs, and support the development of junior engineers while ensuring all works meet project quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities * Manage the mechanical package, site operations and installation activities. * Oversee site safety and mechanical quality assurance, including documentation and close-out. * Coordinate project schedules with the project team, consultants and client. * Monitor package costs, variations, valuations, labour levels and material deliveries. * Coordinate procurement to ensure materials and equipment arrive on schedule. * Manage subcontractors, tracking progress, manpower and programme performance. * Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development. * Coordinate snagging, punch lists and outstanding works through to completion. * Prepare weekly progress reports, labour projections and safety statistics. * Attend site meetings, engineering reviews, planning sessions and handover meetings. * Work with the commercial team to capture variations and manage cost and programme changes. * Ensure subcontractor and safety documentation is maintained and filed correctly. * Support project close-out, including O&M manuals, safety files, QA files and final accounts. Essential Requirements * Mechanical trade background with a relevant third-level qualification. * Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer. * Proven experience coordinating engineering or construction projects. * Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD and MS Project. * Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills. * Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. * Flexibility to travel as required.
