Mechanical Shift Engineer Location: Liverpool Street, London Salary: Up to £58,000 + Overtime Shift Pattern: Continental Shift – Days & Nights, 7am–7pm / 7pm–7am Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking for a fantastic opportunity in a prestigious Central London site? We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join an established engineering team based in Liverpool Street, London. You’ll be part of a close-knit team of 5 engineers, responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation and maintenance of the building’s mechanical services. The Role Working as part of a continental shift team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and fault-finding of the site's mechanical systems. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, respond to breakdowns and ensure all plant and equipment remains operational, safe and compliant. Key Responsibilities * Carry out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance. * Diagnose faults and attend breakdowns efficiently. * Monitor and maintain mechanical plant and equipment. * Complete maintenance tasks in accordance with company procedures and site requirements. * Respond to emergencies and breakdowns when required. * Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard. * Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. * Work closely with the wider engineering and facilities teams. * Support contractors and specialist engineers when required. * Assist with maintaining compliance across all relevant statutory and site requirements. * Participate fully in the continental shift rota, covering both days and nights. You should have: * A recognised mechanical engineering qualification or relevant engineering background. * Experience within commercial buildings, facilities management, critical environments or a similar setting. * Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience. * The ability to work confidently on your own initiative. * Good communication and organisational skills. * A proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving. * The flexibility to work a continental days and nights shift pattern.
