Buyer

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a highly organised Buyer to join a growing, family-run business. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is keen on handling multiple aspects of purchasing and supplier coordination.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers across multiple trades.
• Source and procure materials, plant hire, and subcontractor services.
• Raise and manage purchase orders.
• Negotiate costs and achieve the best value for the business.
• Coordinate deliveries with suppliers, engineers, and internal teams.
• Monitor lead times and ensure materials arrive for scheduled works.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and spreadsheets.
• Liaise with operational teams regarding material requirements.
• Receive and organise deliveries for planned projects.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Support reactive and planned maintenance projects nationwide.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
• Confident liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
