An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing business operating within the construction and infrastructure sector.

We are looking for a confident, commercially aware and proactive Office & Operations Manager / Executive Assistant who can do more than manage the day-to-day running of an office.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys identifying where things could work better, challenging existing processes and implementing meaningful improvements.

Working closely with the Managing Director, you will combine hands-on executive support with responsibility for office operations, business processes and operational efficiency.

The role will involve:

  • Taking ownership of the day-to-day running of the office, ensuring effective systems, processes and working practices.
  • Reviewing existing procedures, identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical improvements.
  • Developing and streamlining administrative and operational processes to support business growth.
  • Providing proactive executive support to the Managing Director, including diary management, correspondence, meetings and business priorities.
  • Working closely with senior management to identify operational challenges and deliver effective solutions.
  • Introducing greater structure, consistency and accountability across office functions.
  • Supporting business projects, operational initiatives and the development of improved working practices.
  • Taking a hands-on approach to administration and office management while contributing to longer-term improvements.

About you

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked within construction, engineering, utilities, infrastructure or a similar operationally focused industry.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in office management, operations management or a combined Office Manager/EA role.
  • Demonstrable experience of reviewing processes, identifying weaknesses and successfully implementing change.
  • Strong executive support experience, ideally working closely with an MD or senior leadership team.
  • Confidence to challenge existing practices, make recommendations and take ownership of improvements.
  • Excellent organisational skills, commercial awareness and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to work independently.
  • Genuine ambition to develop professionally and take on greater responsibility as the business grows.

This is not simply an administrative support role. We are looking for someone who can bring fresh thinking, take initiative and make a tangible difference to how the business operates.

For the right individual, this offers an opportunity to become a trusted partner to the Managing Director and develop alongside an ambitious, growing business.

Katie Bard is acting as an agency and is an equal opportunities employer.
