JOB OVERVIEW

This is an excellent opportunity for a Fabricator Welder to join a specialist steelwork environment producing engineered components for a range of structural applications.

Working from technical drawings, the Fabricator Welder will turn raw steel into accurate, high-quality assemblies using cutting, grinding, welding and fabrication equipment.

The Fabricator Welder will work closely with supervisors and colleagues to meet project deadlines while maintaining dimensional accuracy, quality and safe workshop standards.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Fabricator Welder include:

• Technical Drawings and Specifications: Read and understand engineering drawings and project specifications
• Structural Steel Fabrication: Fabricate and assemble steel components including UBs, UCs, PFCs and CHSs
• Cutting, Grinding and Welding: Carry out cutting, grinding and welding tasks to meet project requirements
• Tools and Machinery: Use hand tools, fabrication machinery and measuring equipment safely and effectively
• Quality and Accuracy: Ensure fabricated work meets dimensional accuracy, quality standards and specifications
• Lifting Equipment: Operate lifting equipment including overhead cranes
• Health and Safety: Wear the correct PPE, follow health and safety procedures and maintain a safe, tidy work area
• Teamwork and Deadlines: Work collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues to meet project deadlines

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in steel fabrication
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Proficiency in welding and metalworking processes
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Able to safely handle materials and carry out the physical requirements of the role
• Safety-conscious with knowledge of workshop health and safety practices
• Reliable, punctual and dependable with a strong work ethic
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• Trade qualification in fabrication/welding preferred but not essential
