A well-established law firm in Scunthorpe is looking to recruit a Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join its claimant team.

This is a good opportunity for an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join an established team, take responsibility for a varied caseload and work on quality claimant matters.

The role

You will manage your own caseload of Clinical Negligence claims from initial instruction through to resolution.

Your work will include:

• Managing a varied caseload of claimant Clinical Negligence matters
• Taking initial instructions and advising clients throughout their claims
• Drafting Letters of Claim, pleadings and other legal documents
• Instructing medical experts and Counsel where required
• Advising clients on liability and quantum
• Progressing claims in line with the Pre Action Protocol
• Negotiating with opponents and working towards settlement
• Keeping clients updated and providing clear, practical advice throughout their case

You will have a good level of responsibility for your own caseload, with support available from the wider team where required.

About you

The firm is looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified Solicitor with experience in claimant Clinical Negligence
• Has experience managing their own caseload
• Is confident dealing directly with clients and other professionals
• Has strong drafting, negotiation and case management skills
• Is organised and able to manage their workload effectively
• Takes a practical and client focused approach to their work
