Management Accountant

Location: Remote (with occasional travel to meetings across the South West)
Contract: Fixed Term from 4 January 2027 to 30 June 2027
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Start Date: 4 January 2027
Rate: £25.00 - £35.00 per hour, plus rolled-up holiday pay (dependent on experience)

Reed is delighted to be working in partnership with a Multi-Academy Trust to recruit an experienced Management Accountant on a six-month fixed-term assignment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong budgeting, forecasting and management reporting experience to support a complex, multi-site organisation. Experience within the education sector, particularly academies or Multi-Academy Trusts, would be highly advantageous.

The role is primarily remote, with occasional attendance required at meetings across the South West.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
• Support budget holders across multiple sites and departments.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare variance analysis and management commentary.
• Assist with year-end processes and audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• A recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
• Previous experience as a Management Accountant or similar role.
• Experience supporting multiple sites, entities or cost centres.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting experience.
• Excellent Excel and financial systems knowledge.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Education sector or Multi-Academy Trust experience would be highly desirable.
