Role Title

Head of Procurement

Healthcare Sector

£60,000 - £80,000 + Excellent Benefits

Hybrid / On-site

Are you a strategic procurement leader with a passion for driving healthcare excellence? We are looking for an exceptional Head of Procurement to take the reins of our entire procurement function across the Hospital. This isn't just about managing suppliers; it's about ensuring high-quality care, driving commercial value, and establishing bulletproof governance that moves the needle for our patients and staff. This role would suit both an experienced department leader or senior procurement professional looking to make the step up.

Why This Role?

You won't just be managing spend. You will be the architect of our strategic supply network and commercial strategy. Providing expert advice to senior stakeholders, you'll have the autonomy to:

  • Own the Strategy: Define, implement, and maintain best-in-class procurement policies, procedures, and controls that deliver compliance, value for money, and quality.
  • Innovate & Lead: Build, manage, and negotiate strategic relationships with key suppliers to maximise commercial value, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive the Numbers: Assess organisational demand and optimise budgets, mitigating risks and unlocking cost efficiencies to ensure strong financial health.
  • Develop the Team: Identify skills gaps and implement targeted development plans, empowering internal teams and contract managers to perform at their best.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • The Blueprint: A minimum of 2 years' experience managing a procurement function within a hospital or healthcare environment, ideally backed by an MCIPS qualification (or equivalent).
  • The Accuracy: Strong commercial, financial, and analytical skills with a track record of managing high-value contracts and tenders in a regulated environment.
  • The Hustle: High-level negotiation and relationship management skills with a sharp eye for identifying cost savings and driving process improvements.

Success Looks Like...

  • Hitting the Mark: Consistent achievement of departmental KPIs, delivering measurable cost savings, value, and regulatory compliance.
  • Seamless Operations: Developing effective stock control systems that guarantee the security, accuracy, and immediate availability of critical supplies.
  • Strategic Alignment: Delivering procurement objectives that directly support the Hospital's Strategic Plan and Commercial Vision.
  • Elite Collaboration: Earning positive feedback from internal stakeholders while embodying the Hospital's core values at all times.

Ready to Lead?

If you're a commercially minded procurement leader ready to transform our healthcare operations, we want to hear from you.
