KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant - Amersham - November 2026

A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Amersham is seeking a dedicated KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team after the October half-term break.

Key Responsibilities

• Support KS2 pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and associated learning needs.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to individual pupils.
• Assist with personalised learning programmes and EHCP targets.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, communication, and emotional wellbeing.
• Monitor progress and contribute to observations, reviews, and support plans.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting, or a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs.
• A calm, patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A positive attitude and commitment to helping every child reach their potential.
• The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
• An understanding of safeguarding and inclusive educational practice, or a willingness to undertake training.

This role is ideal for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or a recent graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into teaching or another child-focused profession.
