Fancy a Financial Controller role where you can lead established finance teams and still have the scope to change how finance actually works? This role combines senior leadership with genuine transformation, giving you ownership of financial control, reporting and governance alongside the opportunity to modernise systems, automation and processes.
Rather than simply maintaining the status quo, you’ll lead three core finance teams and help shape a more efficient, technology-enabled finance function, including the development of Dynamics 365 Finance and appropriate use of automation and AI.
Reporting to the Finance leadership team, you will be responsible for: - Leading and developing teams across technical accounting, financial operations and management reporting
- Owning the financial control framework, accounting policies and governance processes
- Overseeing month-end, year-end, statutory reporting and financial compliance
- Leading the preparation of statutory accounts and external audit activity
- Driving improvements across finance systems, processes, controls and data governance
- Shaping the Dynamics 365 Finance roadmap and identifying opportunities for automation and technology
- Acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders on financial control, reporting and technical accounting matters
What you will need: - A recognised professional accountancy qualification, preferably ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Previous experience in a similar senior role, such as Financial Controller, Group Financial Controller, Head of Financial Control, Head of Finance or senior Financial Reporting role
- Significant experience of financial control, statutory reporting, audit and compliance within a complex organisation
- A track record of leading and developing finance teams
- Strong technical accounting knowledge alongside experience improving finance systems, processes or data governance
- The credibility to influence senior stakeholders and explain complex financial matters clearly
What you will get: - 28 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service
- Hybrid working, with 3 days per week at the Southampton office
- Flexible working options
- Performance-related bonus where applicable
- Enhanced family leave, including paid partner leave
- Learning and development support, coaching and mentoring
- Wellbeing support
- Volunteering leave and matched fundraising
