Macildowie are working with this client based in Derby to recruit a Purchase Ledger Assistant on a permanent basis, offering a salary of up to £27,000 and hybrid working.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, multi-site organisation within the education and care sector, supporting a busy finance function in a varied and fast-paced role.

The Role

Working alongside the Purchase Ledger Team Leader, you will play an important part in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of supplier invoices and payments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices, including matching, batching and coding.
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.
• Managing supplier queries and building strong working relationships.
• Supporting supplier payment runs and staff expense processing.
• Maintaining accurate supplier records and adhering to internal controls.
• Liaising with operational teams to resolve purchase ledger queries.
• Supporting acquisitions, onboarding and process improvements.
• Assisting with audit requirements and finance administration.

About You

We are looking for an organised, proactive individual who enjoys working in a collaborative environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good Excel skills and confidence using finance systems.
• Experience managing high volumes of invoices.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Experience in a multi-site organisation would be advantageous.
