The position reports directly to Managers and Partners and provides an excellent environment to broaden technical experience across both UK GAAP and IFRS, develop specialist knowledge of the travel sector, and build the client-management and leadership skills required to progress to Audit Manager.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, execute, and complete statutory audit engagements across a range of sectors, reporting to Managers and Partners.
  • Lead on-site audit teams, allocating work and reviewing the output of junior staff to ensure files are completed to a high standard, on time, and within budget.
  • Coordinate engagement planning with clients and liaise with relevant departments within the firm.
  • Identify and resolve technical and audit issues as they arise, escalating significant matters to the Manager or Partner promptly.
  • Prepare statutory accounts, reports, corporation tax computations, and other assignments as required.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and related third parties, acting as their principal day-to-day contact during the engagement.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop trainees and Audit Associates, providing constructive on-the-job feedback.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACA or ACCA part-qualified with the Professional / Applied Skills stage completed, or newly qualified.
  • A minimum of three years' audit and assurance experience gained within an accountancy practice, together with some accounts preparation experience.
  • A proven track record of leading external audit assignments from fieldwork through to completion under International Standards on Auditing.
  • Experience of preparing financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP; exposure to IFRS is advantageous.
  • Right to work in the UK without restriction.
  • A confident user of the Microsoft Office suite, with intermediate to advanced Word and Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of CaseWare and CCH software is desirable but not essential.

Benefits:

  • Support to complete professional qualifications where applicable, including study leave and examination fees.
  • A performance-related bonus and award scheme.
  • A clear progression pathway from Senior through to Manager and beyond.
  • Broad technical exposure across UK GAAP and IFRS, together with specialist travel-sector experience.
  • A friendly, collaborative working environment with open-door access to Partners.
