HGV Class 2 Driver – Widnes – £16.90–£19.79 Per Hour

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Widnes, Cheshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £16.90 per hour, overtime at £19.79 per hour after 42 hours, Monday-to-Friday working, weekly pay and long-term ongoing work with a leading logistics provider.

This position is ideal for applicants who have previously worked as an LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, Rigid HGV Driver or Multi-Drop Delivery Driver.

Shifts

• Monday to Friday
• Start times between 04:00 and 07:00
• Overtime available after 42 hours

Rates of Pay

• Monday to Friday: £16.90 per hour
• Overtime after 42 hours: £19.79 per hour
• Weekly pay

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include:

• Driving Category C vehicles safely and efficiently
• Completing between 5 and 12 store deliveries across the UK each day
• Maintaining loads at the correct temperatures throughout transit
• Ensuring all goods are safely secured during transportation
• Unloading cages using a tail lift and delivering products into stores
• Completing all required delivery paperwork accurately and on time
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
• Providing excellent customer service at delivery locations
• Following company policies and health and safety procedures

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 24 months' Category C driving experience
• Valid UK Category C Driving Licence
• Valid Driver CPC Card
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No major endorsements, including DR10, DG10, IN10 or TT99
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Professional and reliable approach to work

Desirable Experience

• Previous multi-drop or store delivery experience
• Experience with temperature-controlled deliveries
• Experience unloading cages using a tail lift

Training Provided

• First-day driving assessment
• Training provided where required
• Ongoing industry-related training and support throughout your assignment
