Technology Internal Auditor

Manchester | Hybrid Working (1–2 Days in Office) | Up to £40,000

Are you an experienced auditor or compliance professional looking to take the next step in your career within a growing technology business?

We're working with an established and innovative financial technology company that's looking to bring an Internal Auditor into its team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in internal audit, IT compliance, information security or GRC who wants to broaden their exposure, take ownership of key audit activities and play an important role in maintaining high standards across the business.

The Role

You'll be responsible for supporting and coordinating internal and external audits, ensuring the business continues to meet its regulatory, security and compliance obligations.

Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of audit activities and contribute to the ongoing development of its risk and compliance processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, coordinating and conducting internal audits across the business.
• Supporting external audits and certification assessments.
• Working with recognised frameworks including ISO 27001, SOC 2 and PCI-DSS.
• Reviewing internal controls, identifying risks and recommending improvements.
• Gathering and maintaining audit evidence and compliance documentation.
• Collaborating with internal teams to ensure audit findings are addressed effectively.
• Supporting continuous improvement across governance, risk and compliance processes.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience in audit, IT compliance, information security or governance, risk and compliance.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Previous experience conducting or supporting internal or external audits.
• Knowledge of information security or compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2 or PCI-DSS.
• An understanding of IT systems, security controls and risk management.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confidence working with stakeholders across different departments.
• The ability to manage audit activities independently and communicate findings clearly.

Experience within fintech, financial services or a technology-led environment would be beneficial, but isn't essential.

You don't need to have worked exclusively as an Internal Auditor. We're also interested in candidates from IT assurance, information security compliance and GRC backgrounds who have relevant audit experience.
