We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a proactive and organised Sales Administrator to support their Business Development Managers.

Combining sales administration with lead generation, this role will involve following up warm leads, making outbound cold calls and arranging qualified appointments. You will help keep the sales pipeline moving by identifying potential customers, building initial relationships and ensuring the Business Development Managers have accurate information for each opportunity.

Key responsibilities

  • Follow up warm leads from incoming enquiries, marketing campaigns, referrals and previous customer contact.
  • Make outbound cold calls to introduce the business, identify decision-makers and explore potential requirements.
  • Research prospective customers and build targeted contact lists.
  • Qualify leads by understanding customer needs, interest, timescales and suitability for the company’s products or services.
  • Book qualified meetings and calls for the Business Development Managers, providing clear notes and background information.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, including contact details, conversations, lead status and agreed next steps.
  • Coordinate follow-up activity to ensure opportunities are progressed promptly.
  • Support the preparation of sales presentations, quotations, proposals and customer correspondence.
  • Manage appointment diaries and assist with general sales administration.
  • Track activity and results, including calls made, leads qualified and appointments booked.
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to share feedback and improve lead generation.

About you

  • Experience in sales administration, telesales, lead generation, customer service or a similar role.
  • Strong telephone manner and clear written communication skills.
  • The ability to build rapport, ask relevant questions and handle initial objections professionally.
  • Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and CRM systems, or the willingness to learn.
  • A resilient, self-motivated approach and a positive attitude towards targets.
  • The ability to work independently while supporting a wider sales team.

Previous experience booking appointments for a business development or sales team would be an advantage.
