Veritas Education is seeking an experienced Primary Teacher to teach a Year 5 class at a primary school in Burnley from November 2026.

This opportunity would suit a confident Key Stage 2 teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, set high expectations and support pupils of different abilities. There is also a potential Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) opportunity, making this an attractive role for someone interested in taking on additional responsibility.

The role

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Year 5 curriculum.

• Assess pupils' progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.

• Create a positive, inclusive classroom with clear expectations for behaviour.

• Work closely with colleagues and parents to support pupils' learning and wellbeing.

• Contribute to the wider life of the school.

The ideal candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• Has successful teaching experience in Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 5.

• Demonstrates strong curriculum knowledge and effective classroom management.

• Has a proven ability to support pupil progress.

• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.

This role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
