Financial Operations Controller (Entities)

London

£64,900–£80,000

Bring your technical accounting expertise and people leadership to a role at the heart of Hyde’s financial reporting.

Hyde is looking for a Financial Operations Controller (Entities) to lead a team of Accountants and deliver accurate, timely and well-controlled financial reporting for the Group’s subsidiary entities. Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, you’ll combine hands-on technical expertise with team management, ensuring monthly reporting, statutory accounts and audit requirements are delivered to a consistently high standard.

You’ll play a key role in the year-end reporting and external audit cycle, providing clear accounting advice, coordinating evidence and resolving complex reporting issues. Working closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business, you’ll strengthen financial controls, improve reporting processes and provide reliable information that supports confident decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Manage, coach and develop a team of Accountants, setting clear priorities and ensuring reporting deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts, financial disclosures, reconciliations and supporting analysis for subsidiary entities.
  • Provide technical accounting advice on complex matters, ensuring accounting treatments are well evidenced, compliant and consistently applied.
  • Lead audit deliverables for assigned entities, act as a key contact for external auditors and coordinate timely responses to queries.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and audit-ready working papers throughout the year, keeping monthly and annual statutory reporting aligned.
  • Support consolidation and financial performance reporting, providing clear explanations of movements and key accounting judgements.
  • Identify reporting risks and improve processes, templates and controls, sharing knowledge and working collaboratively across Finance.
Skills and experience
  • A fully qualified accountant with strong financial accounting, statutory reporting and year-end audit experience in a complex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant accounting standards, statutory accounts, financial disclosures and audit evidence requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and sound judgement, with the ability to explain complex financial information and make clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Experience coordinating audit deliverables, resolving auditor queries and maintaining high-quality working papers and reconciliations.
  • Experience managing or supervising finance colleagues, setting priorities and developing capability within a reporting or financial control environment.

If you enjoy combining technical accounting with developing people and improving how financial reporting is delivered, we’d like to hear from you.
