Project Commissioning Manager – MEP / Building Services London (Waterloo) / National UK | Circa £125,000 + Car / Allowance + Benefits We're working with a progressive Tier 1 MEP contractor that's looking for an experienced Project Commissioning Manager to strengthen its commissioning leadership. This is a senior, high-impact role. You'll take ownership of all commissioning activities on complex, large-scale engineering and construction projects, setting the strategy, leading the team, and making sure systems are delivered fully operational, compliant, and aligned with client expectations. You'll be the technical authority for commissioning, providing leadership and assurance from early planning through testing and client witnessing to final handover. Key Responsibilities Commissioning Leadership & Delivery * Define, assemble, and manage the commissioning team, including specialist subcontractors * Develop and maintain the Project Commissioning Plan, covering strategy, programmes, ITPs, reporting, training, and handover documentation * Ensure commissioning meets project, contractual, and client requirements, securing approvals and witnessing as needed * Provide assurance that all testing is carried out with calibrated equipment and fully documented Planning & Programme * Review designs and installations to optimise commissioning readiness and efficiency * Support the Planning Manager with programme development, sequencing, and progress reporting Training & Competence * Ensure commissioning personnel and specialist providers are suitably qualified and competent * Lead the selection and appointment of commissioning specialists in line with project and regulatory requirements Risk Management * Identify commissioning risks, escalate issues promptly, and contribute to wider project risk management Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement * Report on progress against programme, FATs/SATs, testing status, subcontractor performance, constraints, and corrective actions * Lead commissioning meetings and represent commissioning at client and stakeholder reviews Team Leadership * Motivate and manage the team through clear objectives and regular performance reviews * Build a collaborative, high-performing culture and lead by example Project Closeout * Lead client witnessing, demonstrations, and seasonal commissioning * Ensure all test records and commissioning documentation are complete and included in handover packs * Support the compilation of O&M manuals and wider handover information About You You'll be a credible, driven commissioning leader with the technical depth and presence to operate at senior project level. You'll bring: * Proven experience leading installation and commissioning on major projects * A strong MEP / building services background with a technical M&E bias * CSA (Commissioning Specialists Association) accreditation * The ability to coach, influence, and lead by example * Confidence and professionalism in client-facing environments The Package * Circa £125,000 (depending on experience) * Car or car allowance * 26 days annual leave * 8% pension * 2 volunteering days per year * Further company benefits Interested?
