Legal Cashier / Legal Accounts Assistant

• Contract: Temporary (up to 3 months)
• Hours: Up to 21 hours per week
• Working Pattern: Flexible (equivalent to approximately 3 full days per week)
• Location: Office-based (Barkingside)

We are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier / Legal Accounts Assistant to support our law firm on an initial short-term temporary basis. This role involves organising and streamlining the day-to-day accounts operation, ensuring accurate maintenance and communication of financial information.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Support the organisation and running of the firm's accounts function.
• Regular liaison with the firm's external Legal Cashiers.
• Ensure accurate and prompt communication of financial and transactional information to the external team.
• Identify and resolve any outstanding or incomplete accounts information.
• Maintain organised and accurate accounts records and documentation.
• Assist in improving existing accounts processes to ensure smooth operation.
• Act as the key office-based point of contact for routine accounts queries.
• Work closely with colleagues to gather any required information for the external Legal Cashiering team.
• Provide general Legal Cashiering and accounts support as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in Legal Cashiering or legal accounts.
• Understanding of how an accounts function operates within a law firm.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident in liaising with both internal colleagues and external accounts professionals.
• Comfortable reviewing and structuring an accounts function.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
• Available for a short-term temporary assignment of up to three months.

Working Arrangements:

• The firm operates Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break.
• Flexible working hours, up to 21 hours per week, structured around full or half days.
• While the initial assignment is for three months, there is potential for the role to develop further, although this is not guaranteed.
