Purchase Ledger Clerk

Reed Lancaster is seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a busy finance team in Penrith. This full-time temporary position is expected to last around four weeks, with a potential opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Process high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Perform matching, batching, and coding of invoices.
• Carry out 3-way matching of purchase orders, goods received notes, and supplier invoices.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
• Prepare and process BACS payment runs.
• Manage supplier accounts and maintain accurate records.
• Handle supplier and internal finance queries.
• Ensure VAT compliance and accurate invoice coding.
• Support month-end processes and meet deadlines.
• Assist with process improvements within the finance function.
• Provide general administrative support as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable position.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy levels.
• Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience reconciling supplier accounts and processing payments.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Able to work effectively within a team and manage workload independently.
• Available to start immediately or at short notice.
