Trainee Machine Setter / Operator

Location: Redditch

Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–4:30pm, Friday 8:00am–3:00pm

Real Personnel are currently recruiting for a Trainee Machine Setter / Operator to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Redditch.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an engineering qualification and a hands-on, mechanical background who is looking to develop their skills in a specialist manufacturing environment.

No previous cold heading experience is required, as full training will be provided over a 12–18 month period.

Duties Include:

• Learning to set and operate specialist manufacturing machinery.
• Assisting with machine tooling, adjustments and maintenance.
• Carrying out quality inspections on finished products.
• Identifying and resolving basic mechanical issues.
• Working alongside experienced setters to develop technical skills.
• Gradually taking responsibility for multiple machines.

Requirements:

• Level 2 or 3 Engineering qualification (apprenticeship preferred).
• Good mechanical knowledge and practical hands-on skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Reliable, motivated and able to work independently or within a team.
