Accounts Payable Support

• Contract: Temporary initially for 12 weeks, then Fixed Term Contract until September 2027
• Location: Team Valley
• Salary: Around £28,000 pro rata
• Job Type: Part-time, 3 days per week

My client is seeking an Accounts Payable Support to take ownership of the Accounts Payable function. This role is crucial for managing their payment processes and supplier relationships effectively. The position starts as a temporary role with the potential to become permanent based on performance and business growth.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Manage payment runs and set up payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Process invoices accurately, posting them to the correct nominal codes.
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve supplier ledger queries promptly.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, managing their expectations around payment timings and cash flow.
• Conduct credit card reconciliations and post transactions.
• Support the wider finance team by alleviating the day-to-day Accounts Payable workload.
• Handle a current transaction volume of approximately 200-300 invoices/payments, highlighting the importance of efficient supplier management and communication.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar.
• Strong organisational and time management skills to handle high volumes of transactions.
• Excellent communication skills for managing supplier relationships and resolving queries.
• Proficiency in using financial software, with specific experience in Xero being advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
