A high growth Private Equity backed business is seeking an experienced Regional Financial Controller to lead the finance function across 5+ operating companies. The successful candidate will partner closely with the Directors and Group leadership, ensuring robust financial control, insightful reporting and strong commercial support for a growing business specialising in fire and security installation and maintenance.

We are seeking a CIMA/ ACA or ACCA qualified Regional Financial Controller with a proactive, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude. This role is pivotal in providing financial insight, supporting commercial decision-making, and improving financial controls. The successful candidate will work closely with the leadership team to drive business performance, integrate newly acquired businesses, and embed best practices across finance operations.

This role requires a finance leader who is hands-on, resilient, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function across 5+ companies.
• Prepare accurate and meaningful monthly management accounts and management reporting packs in line with Group reporting deadlines of WD5.
• Provide commercial detailed commentary on any variances to budget and highlight what is being done to mitigate risks
• Produce weekly week cash flow forecasts and funding forecasts.
• WIP & Profitability Analysis: Oversee Work in Progress (WIP) reporting and conduct contract/job profitability analysis to optimise financial performance.
• Commercial finance business partner. Support the business with commercial decision making, driving this forwards
• Ensure all financial systems and procedures remain accurate, compliant and fully reconciled within Xero.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and review financial controls.
• Post monthly journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and payroll journals.
• Oversee Sales Ledger, driving effective credit control and debtor day performance.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisers and support statutory accounts preparation.
• Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns.
• Manage and develop a small finance team
• Support continuous improvement of finance processes, controls and reporting.
• Be the lead contact for the audit
• Play a key role integrating new acquisitions into the regional hub

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA preferred).
• Strong management accounts and financial control experience.
• Excellent knowledge of Xero / Netsuites or similar accounting systems.
• Strong cash flow forecasting and balance sheet reconciliation skills.
• Confident communicator with the ability to partner senior stakeholders.
• Hands-on leader with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
