Are you an experienced social or political researcher ready to take ownership of projects, build client relationships and work on research that makes a difference?

We're working with an innovative, technology-led research consultancy looking for a Research Manager to join its growing team. Working with leading foundations, charities and non-profit organisations, the business combines research expertise with technology to deliver high-quality public opinion insight at pace.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of research projects from start to finish, work on important social and political issues and help shape the development of a growing team.

The Role
  • Lead public opinion research projects from initial scoping through to delivery and presentation.

  • Design questionnaires, oversee fieldwork, analyse data and produce compelling insight reports.

  • Act as the main client contact, building strong relationships and managing expectations.

  • Identify opportunities to develop existing client relationships and support new business proposals.

  • Conduct original research and contribute to thought leadership, events and industry discussions.

  • Support and mentor junior researchers, helping develop team processes and ways of working.

  • Explore how AI and emerging technologies can improve research methods and delivery.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring high standards and timely delivery.

About You
  • Around four years' experience in social, political or public opinion research.

  • Strong quantitative research experience, with the ability to independently manage projects from questionnaire design through to analysis and presentation.

  • Confident analysing data, interpreting findings and communicating clear, actionable insights.

  • Strong client-facing skills, with experience managing relationships and project expectations.

  • Experience contributing to proposals or business development is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of R or Python would be beneficial, alongside strong data visualisation skills.

  • An interest in AI and how technology can improve research workflows.

  • A genuine interest in current affairs, social and political issues, and the work of the third sector.

Experience working with foundations, charities, think tanks or other non-profit organisations would be particularly valuable. Qualitative research experience is also a bonus.

The Opportunity
  • Work with an impressive client base including major international foundations and established non-profit organisations.

  • Take genuine ownership of projects and develop your client management experience.

  • Work alongside researchers, engineers, data scientists and product specialists.

  • Help shape the growth and development of an ambitious research team.

  • Develop your expertise in AI-enabled research and innovative methodologies.

  • Build your profile through original research, thought leadership and events.
