Class 2 HIAB / Beavertail Driver – £20ph – Temp to Perm

Hours: Monday–Friday, approximately 06:00–16:00

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

CWS is recruiting an experienced Class 2 HIAB / Beavertail Driver for an established civil engineering and infrastructure business based in Belvedere.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, with the intention of offering a permanent position to the right driver.

This is not a standard Class 2 HIAB delivery role. The position is expected to involve approximately a 50/50 split between HIAB/grab work and beavertail/plant transport, so applicants must be confident operating both types of vehicle.

The Role

You will be responsible for transporting and delivering a variety of plant, equipment and materials to sites, including:

  • Excavators up to approximately 8 tonnes
  • Dumpers up to approximately 6 tonnes
  • Rollers
  • Welfare units
  • Palletised materials
  • Temporary fencing
  • Other plant and construction materials as required

HIAB work will involve attachments including clamshell/grab, brick grab and hook.

You'll generally operate the same vehicle, which returns to the yard each night. There are no nights away.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Valid HGV Class 2 / Category C licence
  • Valid Driver CPC
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • Recognised external lorry-loader/HIAB qualification – ALLMI, NPORS or equivalent considered
  • Experience operating HIAB/lorry loaders with grab and/or hook attachments
  • Genuine beavertail experience
  • Experience loading, transporting and securing plant/equipment
  • Good understanding of load security
  • Good attitude and a reliable employment history

Experience operating lorry loaders around the 30tm capacity would be particularly relevant.

Advantageous Tickets / Experience

The following would be beneficial but are not essential:

  • CSCS
  • Lorry Loader Securer
  • Slinger/Signaller
  • Plant tickets
  • Sentinel
  • First Aid
  • FORS training/modules
Hours & Pay

£20.00 per hour PAYE

Typical working hours are 06:00–16:00, Monday to Friday, approximately 50 hours per week.

Occasional weekend and overtime work may also be available.

Based on a typical 50-hour week, earnings would be approximately £1,000 gross per week / £52,000 annually, before any additional overtime.

Interested?

If you have strong Class 2 HIAB and beavertail/plant transport experience, we'd like to hear from you.

Please apply with an up-to-date CV and details of your current HIAB/lorry-loader qualification.

CWS will contact suitable applicants to discuss their HIAB categories, attachments, crane capacity and previous beavertail/plant experience before submission to the client.
