Senior Virtual Build Engineer  Position Title: Senior Virtual Build Engineer  Location: Surrey (Hybrid) Position Type: Contract 12 months (Outside IR35) About the Role Contechs is recruiting for an experienced Senior Virtual Build Engineer to support a leading automotive OEM. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the planning, execution, and reporting of virtual build activities across cutting-edge vehicle programmes. Working within a cross-functional engineering environment, you will be responsible for identifying, coordinating, and driving the resolution of design, manufacturing, and integration issues to ensure programme milestones are achieved. Key Responsibilities Plan, execute, and monitor virtual build activities across vehicle programmes. Review engineering CAD data and manufacturing feasibility using CATIA Identify, document, prioritise, and track virtual build issues through to closure. Coordinate engineering resolutions across Manufacturing, Design, Vehicle Development, Quality, and Programme Management teams. Challenge proposed engineering solutions and validate evidence of issue resolution. Maintain issue registers, action logs, programme dashboards, and KPI reporting. Support build readiness assessments and programme gateway reviews. Ensure all activities are delivered in line with programme timing and quality requirements. Skills & Experience Required Significant experience within Automotive Manufacturing Engineering or Virtual Build Engineering at a senior level. Proven experience using CATIA within an automotive product development environment. Strong understanding of vehicle assembly processes, manufacturing feasibility, and engineering issue resolution. Experience coordinating activities across multiple engineering disciplines and stakeholder groups. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical reporting skills. Ability to manage and prioritise multiple issues within a fast-paced programme environment. Why Work Through Contechs?
