Maintenance Engineer

Stoke-on-Trent | Permanent | £28,000-£30,000

37.5 hours per week
Monday-Friday | Rotating shifts: 8am-4pm, 8.30am-4.30pm & 9am-5pm
Out-of-hours on-call rota required

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a facilities management team supporting a large educational site in Stoke-on-Trent.

You'll be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring statutory compliance, completing PPMs, supervising contractors and maintaining safe, efficient building operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out PPMs and routine safety checks.
• Complete building fabric repairs, redecoration, tiling and lock changes.
• Undertake minor plumbing repairs and HVAC filter changes.
• Assist with electrical maintenance tasks.
• Clear gutters and support general site maintenance activities.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure safe working practices.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using CAFM systems.
• Support compliance and health & safety requirements across the site.

About You

• Previous experience in a maintenance, FM or building services role.
• Strong plumbing and general building maintenance skills.
• Knowledge of PPM schedules and statutory compliance.
• Good health and safety awareness.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail.
