Management Accountant

£47,000 - £53,000 | Permanent | Liverpool

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Management Accountant to join a well-established business in a broad and commercially focused finance role.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management and commercial analysis, whilst supporting the ongoing performance of the business. This position offers significant responsibility and would suit a hands-on finance professional who enjoys operating across both day-to-day finance activities and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Production of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reporting
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
• Maintain strong financial controls and balance sheet reconciliations
• Analyse business performance, costs, margins and profitability
• Support working capital management and cashflow forecasting
• Produce KPI reporting and provide insightful commercial analysis
• Assist with year-end audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements
• Oversee VAT returns and compliance activities
• Support process improvement initiatives across the finance function
• Partner with senior stakeholders to support business decision-making

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Fully qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Previous management accounting experience within a manufacturing, engineering, distribution or product-based environment
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting experience
• Experience analysing costs, margins and operational performance
• Excellent commercial awareness and analytical capability
• Advanced Excel skills and strong systems experience
• Confident stakeholder management and communication skills
• A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
